**A Home for an Active Family**
When a young, sports-loving family with three energetic boys decided it was time to upgrade their dated single-storey home, they knew they needed something that would cater to their lifestyle, while blending seamlessly with the natural beauty surrounding them. After obtaining their Complying Development Certificate, they embarked on a transformative knock-down rebuild project – a fresh start that would enhance their daily living experience and bring their dreams to life.
The design was driven by the family's love of the outdoors and sports. Clever storage solutions were incorporated throughout the home, offering space for bicycles, kayaks, and all the gear needed for family adventures. Whether it’s storing equipment or simply enjoying the surrounding nature, every detail was thoughtfully considered.
Situated in a peaceful bushland setting, the home was designed to embrace its environment. The layout revolves around a central axis, with the living spaces opening up to expansive views of the greenery, from the front yard all the way through to the backyard. This connection to nature is highlighted by the strategic use of windows, which bring the outdoors inside, making the family feel truly at one with their surroundings.
A north-facing landscaped courtyard serves as the heart of the home, creating a perfect balance of indoor and outdoor living. The open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area at the back flows effortlessly to the existing swimming pool, making it ideal for entertaining or enjoying a quiet family moment.
The home’s design features warm timber highlights, weatherboard cladding, and a striking raked ceiling that adds depth and character to the space.
